Watch: Daniil Medvedev pens down his real feelings after a difficult win against Nicolas Jarry in Miami
Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Russian tennis ace Daniil Medvedev penned down his real feelings after he was pushed to the brink by Nicolas Jarry in his quarterfinal match at the 2024 Miami Open. The World No. 4 was exhausted after the match and he assessed that the match was “not easy” for him.

After claiming the opening set 6-2, Medvedev was made to work hard by the Chilean who forced a tiebreaker in the second set. Although Medvedev won the match, it was not an easy win for him. In the second set, games went to and fro with Jarry catching up with Medvedev every time the Russian took a lead.

Even in the tiebreaker, Jarry kept troubling Medvedev. The Chilean pushed Medvedev to the limits as he reached seven points with the deficit being nil. However, a couple of errors from Jarry helped Medvedev seal the match 6-2, 7-6 (7) in his favor in an hour and 41 minutes.

But the Russian ace was more exhausted than ever. Medvedev revealed his real feelings while writing a message on the camera. The Russian ace wrote “Not Easy” while signing on the camera.

Daniil Medvedev gears up for another big clash with Jannik Sinner

With this thrilling win over Nicolas Jarry in the quarterfinal, Daniil Medvedev set himself a clash with Jannik Sinner who beat Tomas Machac in straight sets of 6-4, 6-2. The two players will be going up against each other in a major game for the second time this season.

Sinner and Medvedev met in the 2024 Australian Open final and the Italian got the best out of his Russian counterpart as he beat Medvedev in five sets to clinch his maiden Grand Slam title. In fact, Sinner has defeated Medvedev in four out of the last five matches played between the two players.

The Russian knows it well and despite him leading Sinner 6-4 in the head-to-head record, Medvedev is eagerly awaiting the challenge. He promises to give his 100 percent when the two players meet each other in the semifinal.

He’s playing better and better and he’s confident. Some matches you look at on TV and when he looks to be in trouble he manages to find solutions and that’s what champions do. It’s a great challenge for me and will try to bring my 100 percent. Daniil Medvedev said. (H/T: ATP Tour)

It is worth mentioning that the solitary win registered by Medvedev against Sinner in the last five matches came at the Miami Open when the Russian beat the 22-year-old Italian in the final last year.
