The New Orleans Pelicans found out two weeks ago that 2020 first-round pick Kira Lewis Jr. will miss the rest of the 2021-2022 season with a torn ACL and MCL sprain. On Tuesday morning, it was reported that the team was bringing in another young point guard to help deal with the loss.
The New Orleans Pelicans are signing guard Jared Harper of NBA G League Birmingham on a two-way contract, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Following a three-year career at the Auburn, Harper went undrafted in 2019 and spent the 2019-2020 campaign bouncing between the Phoenix Suns and the Northern Arizona Suns of the G-League.
Harper played in just three NBA contests with the Suns, totaling eight minutes of action and went 1-for-4 from the field. The 24-year-old was claimed off waivers by the New York Knicks in June 2020 and split time between New York and their G-League affiliate -- the Westchester Knicks -- during the 2020-2021 season.
Over eight NBA contests last season, Harper played 16 minutes, scored three points and added two rebounds and one assist while shooting 0-for-4 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free throw line.
