Tiger Woods sets impressive Masters record

Not only is he 48 years old and clearly limited by the health issues and injuries that have plagued him in recent years, but he had to do so by playing 23 holes on Friday in less than ideal weather conditions.

Woods' first round had to be cut short and delayed on Thursday due to weather, forcing him to continue on Friday. He finished his second round one over par.

Woods has hardly played any competitive golf over the past three years, including just one PGA Tour round this year.

However, he has won 15 majors in his career, including the Masters five times. 

While he may not be one of the favorites in 2024, he still believes he has a chance to win it a sixth time.  

"It means I have a chance going into the weekend," Woods said on Friday, via ESPN. "I'm here. I have a chance to win the golf tournament. I don't know if they're all going to finish today, but I'm done. I got my two rounds in. Just need some food and some caffeine, and I'll be good to go."

Making the cut is obviously routine for Woods, but his ability to do so this year given all of the factors working against him makes this one of his most impressive accomplishments regardless of what happens this weekend.
