If you're a fan of chasing a massive payday in golf betting, this week is for you. Only four of the top 40 players in the OWGR are teeing it up at TPC Deere Run, so longshots have a better chance to compete this week than they would at elevated events when Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm are headlining the field.
With that said, here are my three favorite longshots to target at this week's John Deere Classic.
Kevin Yu isn't a household name on the PGA Tour, but he's a talented 24-year-old who knows how to go low. He ranks 19th on the PGA Tour this season in birdies per round (4.12), and his best finishes this year have come at birdie fests. The ball striking will be there for Yu this week, but his performance will come down to the flatstick. If he finds a groove on the greens, don't be surprised if he contends for a win.

It hasn't been the best year for Patton Kizzire, who has more missed cuts (10) than top-40 finishes (eight) this season. But a return to TPC Deere Run might be exactly what he needs to snap out of his funk. Kizzire has never finished worse than T30 in four starts here, and he's gained strokes putting every year. There's just something about this golf course that fits Kizzire's eye, so he's a great target for some finishing position bets this week.

If you've never seen Carl Yuan play golf before, you're in for a treat. The 26-year-old twists and turns his body in a way that makes Scottie Scheffler's footwork look normal, but it somehow works for him. Yuan is coming into the week in good form with two top-20 finishes in his last three starts, and he's gained strokes putting in three of his last four. This is a guy who can litter a scorecard with circles when the putter gets hot, so let's hope that's the case this week.
