Mick Schumacher claims he’ll tell Sebastian Vettel if Le Mans is ‘worth it’ after Alpine debut this season

Mick Schumacher raced in Formula 1 for just two seasons before being ousted from the Haas F1 team due to poor performance. The 25-year-old’s performances were highly overshadowed, as he was the son of F1 legend Michael Schumacher. However, the passion for racing in Schumacher continued as didn’t abandon his career. The German is a reserve driver for Mercedes and will soon compete in the World Endurance Championship with Alpine. Moreover, Schumacher has shared a close relationship with Sebastian Vettel.

After leaving F1, Mick Schumacher soon received the opportunity to race for Alpine in FIA’s World Endurance Championship. Schumacher previously mentioned that he considered joining IndyCar before finalizing a seat in WEC. The German driver claimed that Sebastian Vettel made him join WEC to use it as a stepping stone for Formula 1. Hence, speaking on Vettel’s rumored WEC entry, Schumacher highlighted that he liked seeing the veteran, no matter the category of motorsport.

I always like to see Sebastian, no matter where! Mick Schumacher said, as reported by motorsport-magazin.com.

Apart from this, Mick Schumacher accepted that he hadn’t experienced racing in 24 Hours of Le Mans before. Hence, the new experience would be amazing as well as difficult for the 25-year-old. Regardless, Schumacher mentioned that he would tell Vettel if it is worth racing in the iconic race. This shows that both the drivers have continued to have a great friendship.

I have never experienced the 24 Hours of Le Mans myself. After the race I'll probably tell him whether it's worth it or not. Mick Schumacher added.

Mick Schumacher claims 24 Hours of Le Mans isn’t as ‘complex’ as Formula 1

Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship are completely different types of motorsport. WEC’s 24 Hours of Le Mans is very lengthy as compared to the pinnacle of motorsport. Hence, recalling Jenson Button‘s quotes about the difference, Schumacher reckoned that F1 cars have changed a lot since Button last drove. On the contrary, Le Mans’ chassis is much more straightforward to drive according to the 25-year-old.

Well, since Jenson last drove Formula 1 (2017; d. Red.), The F1 cars have already developed a lot with a view to what a driver has to do. In comparison, the hypercar is relatively straightforward and straightforward Mick Schumacher explained.

However, the two categories weren’t completely different as there were some similarities. Schumacher revealed that in the chassis of 24 Hours of Le Mans, there are multiple options on the steering wheel. Regardless, these options were much simpler than those of Formula 1. According to the German, F1 was overall "more complex" when compared to Le Mans.

We have various settings here that we can and must change on the steering wheel. But it is not as complex as a Formula 1 car. Mick Schumacher concluded.

Mick Schumacher’s performance in the WEC would be exciting for the fans to see. The 25-year-old driver has gained much more experience since his debut in Formula 1. Hence, the WEC participation would also be crucial to enable any chances of a return to F1. As a result, Schumacher aims to perform well in the prestigious race this year.
